Weather forecasts are often at the centerpiece of a local television station’s newscast.
But over the years, the focus has mostly been on current temperatures, record highs and the seven or even 10-day forecast.
That is gradually changing at hundreds of stations across the country, thanks to a program called Climate Matters. It aims to look at the connection between climate change and local weather forecasts.
