Legislation To Change VA Firing Practices Proposed

Earlier this week, the federal U.S. Court of Appeals overturned the firing of Arizona’s former Veternas Affairs Director Sharon Helman.

The Phoenix VA was ground zero for unusually long waiting lists for medical appointments and cover-ups of the related delays.

Now a bipartisan group of senators is moving forward with legislation related to firing VA employees.

Eric Katz, senior correspondent for Government Executive and GovExec.com, talked about the proposed legislation to modify VA firing practices.
