The current population of bison living at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is descended from buffalo originally brought to northern Arizona in the early 20th century.
And in recent years, the number of bison have begun to multiply at a precipitous rate, leading the National Park Service to ask for public comments about what to do to reduce the herd. Some of that may come from hunting, and it may also include relocation.
We talked about the possibilities with Chris Lehnertz, superintendent of Grand Canyon National Park.
