Arizona Sen. McCain Praises President Trump's First Foreign Trip

Arizona’s senior senator is so far praising Donald Trump’s first foreign trip as president.

On FOX News Sunday, John McCain called on more to be done to forge bonds with Muslim majority countries and to prevent against Iran’s hegemony in the region.

“I think this trip so far has been excellent," McCain said. "I think the Sunni/Arab world, particularly our traditional friends there are encouraged because of the very strained, if not estranged, relations between the previous administration.”

McCain said though he was “almost speechless” after learning of Trump’s remarks referring to fired FBI Director James Comey as a “nut job."

He also remarked that Russian diplomats had no business being in the White House and scandals around the White House threaten to impair the entire congressional agenda.

The president is in Israel today for the next part of his foreign trip.
