CVS To Sell Naloxone Without Prescription In Arizona

Arizona residents will soon have more access to the opiate overdose reversal drug known as Naloxone.

CVS Pharmacy is expected to announce the medication will be now available without a prescription in all 195 of its stores in the state.

CVS joins Walgreens, which made a similar move in its Arizona stores back in January.

State legislation last year made distributing Naloxone without a prescription legal but requires pharmacists to be trained on when and how the drug should be used.
