Steven Jones is accused in the Oct. 9, 2015, fatal shooting at Northern Arizona University.

The retrial has been postponed for the former Northern Arizona University student accused of shooting four people — killing one. Steven Jones will stand trial Oct. 10.

The Arizona Daily Sun reports that the jury selection was originally set to begin Aug. 1. But according to court documents, both the Coconino County Attorney’s Office and attorneys for Steven Jones agreed that they needed more time to construct their case.

Jones is charged with one count of first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault in the shooting that killed Colin Brough and injured three others. Jones claims he killed Brough in self-defense.

A mistrial was declared earlier this month after a jury was unable to come to a unanimous decision. They deliberated for four days.
