Today is a day that we celebrate all those who died while serving in the military.
Navy Veteran Arizona Sen. John McCain said he hopes that people don’t just think of today as a day off work or a good time to find a good sale, but for those who sacrificed their lives for the country.
“We don’t know their names, but we do know what they did. And it’s appropriate that as we enjoy our barbeques, and our hikes, and our camping to just take one minute out and, maybe, bow our heads and say, ‘thanks,’” McCain said.
Multiple Memorial Day ceremonies are being held at different veterans cemeteries around the state.
