The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for Phoenix that will remain in effect until at least Wednesday night.
Meteorologist Travis Wilson said Valley residents will need to alter their daily routines.
“If you can avoid outdoor activity such as working or even exercising, we encourage that to be done late in the evening or very early in the morning, really avoid that afternoon sun,” Wilson said.
Wilson said people should keep their pets inside and check on older relatives to make sure their air conditioning is working and they have access to plenty of fluids.
The expected high temperature for Tuesday is 107 degrees.
