Agriculture plays a big role in Arizona’s economy, and there are lots of factors that help determine how successful a farming operation is.

One of them, though, starts at ground-level: the soil.

David Montgomery writes about this in his new book, "Growing a Revolution: Bringing Our Soil Back to Life."

He’s a professor of geomorphology at the University of Washington and will be in the Valley tonight at Changing Hands Bookstore in Phoenix.
