Report: Better Balance Of Child Welfare, Services Could Save County Millions

Arizona, as well as other states, has had its share of problems with its child-welfare agency.

A new report from the RAND Corporation suggests a better balance between preventing the mistreatment of kids and services for those who have been mistreated could save the county millions of dollars.

Jeanne Ringel is a senior economist at RAND and director of its Population Health Program. She’s also the lead author of the report.
