Boeing said it will potentially move hundreds of jobs from its Shared Services Group to Mesa.
It’s part of Boeing’s ongoing cost-cutting plan, which has included over 18,000 job cuts in Washington state since 2012.
Company representatives say the transfer to Mesa is an effort to avoid layoffs.
The division employs about 3,000 and provides support services to production units.
Boeing has not yet said how many jobs will be moved, but does say some management jobs will be eliminated.
