The University of Arizona’s Medical School’s Phoenix Campus is now fully accredited. The school received the accreditation ahead of schedule.
After receiving "preliminary" accreditation in 2012 and “provisional” accreditation in 2015, the school didn’t expect to finish the process until next year.
The Phoenix campus was created 10 years ago to help meet the critical physician shortage in Arizona. And prior to beginning the separate accreditation process, it was a branch campus under the accreditation of the college in Tucson.
In May, Dr. Guy Reed was named as the school’s dean. He will begin his new post in July.
