With temperatures expected to hit a record-breaking 120 degrees by Tuesday, the public is being urged to take precautions by staying hydrated and keeping cool.
SRP is one of the utilities that will help Valley residents do just that.
Patty Garcia-Likens with SRP said the utility spends the year ensuring it can handle the demands.
"We prepare for these particular days and, so, we look at things like making sure our lines are maintained, that our right of ways are cleared of any obstructions, our substations are well-maintained as well as our power plants," Garcia-Likens said.
Garcia-Likens said SRP feels they can meet — and maintain — the demands over the coming days. SRP provides power to more than 1 million people throughout the Phoenix area.
