Flooding Damage To International Seed Vault Not As Bad As Feared

Last year, some water seeped into the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway. This caused some alarm, since the facility houses more than 500 million seeds of hundreds of thousands of different crops.

With me to talk about this is Cary Fowler. He chaired the committee that developed the original plan for the seed vault in Norway; he currently chairs the International Advisory Council that oversees its technical and scientific operations.
