Australian Company Uses Arizona Lab To Test Portable Battery Storage

An Australian company is spending $12 million on a project, using a lab in Arizona, to develop energy storage for portable devices.

Printed Energy, an Australian firm, is partnering with Sunset Power International and Nevada-based Sonovia Holdings.

The group is designing and manufacturing portable energy storage in an Arizona lab that they say fills a need in the renewable energy market, in cases where battery power runs out.

Printed Energy CEO Rodger Whitby said the product is designed to fill in the energy gaps in both the small-scale battery market, like with disposable health-care devices, and on a large scale, like managing intermittent energy needs when using solar panels.
