Phoenix Parks And Rec To Close Desert Parks For 4th Of July

The Phoenix Parks and Rec Department will restrict access vehicle access to the city’s desert parks and mountain preserves on the Fourth of July.

The restrictions will go into effect starting at 3 pm.

Park rangers will close all gates to the South Mountain Park and Preserve, Papago Park, all areas of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, North Mountain and surrounding areas, the Sonoran Preserve, Deem Hills and surrounding areas and Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area.

Other restrictions that apply to the July Fourth closure include no fireworks, no open fires, no alcoholic beverage and no glass containers.
