The Trump administration’s immigration-related policy changes continue, as Immigration and Customs Enforcement has announced a move called a “surge initiative.”
Its focus is, in part, on dismantling human smuggling operations. But the biggest point of contention is an emphasis on identifying and arresting the adult sponsors of unaccompanied minors who gave money to coyotes or other smugglers to get the children into the U.S.
