Burton Barr Central Library remains closed indefinitely from storm damages suffered last month.
The library’s roof was heavily damaged from the storm as rain leaked into the library’s upper floors. Now, Phoenix library spokeswoman Lee Franklin says the key is finding out what happened.
“We have the engineering firm WJE that is doing their assessment and evaluation," Franklin said. "And part of that will be providing us an analysis of exactly what happened and include recommendations for where we go from here.”
Franklin said roof replacement may be an option going forward depending on the results of the report, which she said will be out within two weeks. Franklin said there is not a certain timetable yet for the reopening of the library.
