The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is reminding drivers that the grace period for a county-wide hands-free ordinance for cellphones is over.
Spokesman Ryan Inglett said even during the 60-day grace period, sheriff’s deputies were busy.
"During that period issued four citations. We also handed out 361 written warnings but we also provided 386 verbal warnings," said Inglett.\
Inglett said deputies will still issue verbal warnings, but cautions drivers that the next time they’re pulled over, they could get a ticket.
