State Planners Want More Input On Latest Proposal For New Arizona Park In Verde Valley

A preliminary master plan to develop a new state park in the Verde Valley is scheduled for release later this month.

On Wednesday evening, Aug. 16, planners will hold a third public discussion for the 209 acre Rockin’ River State Park.

In two prior meetings, administrators said public comments helped develop the latest proposal.

The state purchased the land in 2008, but its development was put on hold during the Great Recession.
