The original GI Bill was passed in 1944 and is one of the most impactful pieces of legislation Congress has ever approved. It gave veterans greater opportunities to attend college and buy homes.
Earlier this summer, the House unanimously passed the Forever GI Bill, an expansion of a post-9/11 GI Bill.
