Arizona Man Pleads Guilty To Posing As A Doctor, Running Clinic

A man has pleaded guilty to operating an illegal Tempe clinic that offered Botox injections and laser hair removal, among other treatments.

Attorney General Mark Brnvovich says from 2015 to 2017, Craig Allen Scherf told 13 victims that he was a doctor licensed to perform cosmetic injections and laser treatments. Scherf also illegally used a doctor’s identity so he could order drugs like Botox.

Under the plea agreement, Scherf faces a mandatory prison sentence of 3 to 12.5 years, which will be followed by supervised probation.

The plea also requires Scherf to pay up to $100,000 in restitution to his victims. He’s scheduled to be sentenced in October.
