Pima County Supervisor Ally Miller came under fire Monday for a comment she posted on Facebook about President Trump’s response to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.
“It is all about making us feel like we need to apologize. I am WHITE — and proud of it! No apologies necessary,” the comment read.
Fellow County Supervisor Richard Elìas called on Miller to apologize for her comment.
“Well I’m just shocked at her response to the violence in Charlottesville, and ultimately I think that’s really not becoming of an elected official," Elias said.
No other supervisors made statements about the events in Charlottesville this past weekend, which resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to 19 others.
