Number Of Child Abuse Investigations Down In Arizona

In 2013, it came to light that more than 6,000 reports of child abuse and neglect had been set aside — marked as “not investigated.”

Today, the number of investigations is down over the last year, even as the number of calls coming into Arizona’s child-abuse hotline stays steady.

That’s according to a new report from The Arizona Republic, and for more on this we’re joined now by Mary Jo Pitzl, who covers the Arizona Department of Child Safety for The Republic.
