The Maricopa County Department of Health launched its first Spanish website earlier this week. The project has been a long time coming.
The department had placed its Spanish content on the English site, but it was difficult to find.
"So we decided to create, have a hub where people can find in their own language the material they need either for immunization, either for an emergency, for back to school shots, for STD testing, any of that, you know, that kind of information," said Jhoana Molina with Maricopa County public health.
In addition to its new website, Somos Salud Publica, the department has launched a Twitter feed so it can quickly communicate with the more than three quarters of a million Spanish speakers in the county.
