Day will become night across the U.S. on Monday. That’s when a rare total solar eclipse will take place.
Moving from the Pacific Northwest to the Southeast, the celestial event has taken on the grand name of Great American Total Solar Eclipse.
With me to shine a special light on it is Joe Llama, astronomer at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff.
As we mentioned, interest in eclipses is nothing new. But what if you’re interested enough to actually chase them down and have them be an important focus of your life?
These eclipse chasers are also known as umbraphiles, coronaphiles, eclipsoholics and ecliptomaniacs, and they’ve been following the sun as early as 2500 B.C.
