The devastation wrought by Hurricane Harvey continues to unfold in Texas. Rain continues to pour down on the flooded city, and tens of thousands of people have been left stranded.
Last night, more than 17,000 people sought refuge in shelters across Texas, according to the American Red Cross, and thousands of volunteers have made the trip to the state to help, including many from here in Arizona.
We got a hold of Kurt Kroemer, regional CEO for the Red Cross here in Phoenix. He’s in Houston now at the Red Cross Disaster Operations Center. He's been there since Thursday of last week, before the storm hit hardest.
I asked him to describe for us the efforts that he’s leading now at the center.
