Due to the supplies St. Mary’s Food Bank has sent to victims of Hurricane Harvey, the Phoenix-based organization is now facing its own shortage.
St Mary’s is seeking food and monetary donations to regain what it had. Corporations around the Valley have stepped in to help the organization restock its shelves.
According to Jerry Brown, director of public relations for St. Mary’s, “Our supplies were pretty low before we received these calls, but when you get a call from an area that needs help, you respond first and hope that the public will be able to help you be able to replenish your supplies on the other end.”
Brown says St. Mary’s is planning to send another truckload of food to Texas in the coming days.
