Rental-Car Companies Sending Cars To Houston After Harvey Damage

Cars damaged during Tropical Storm Harvey in Houston have increased demand on local rental fleets as residents scramble for vehicles.

Neil Abrams of Abrams Consulting Group says rental-car companies are sending cars to the area any way they can and in some cases, charging as little as $4 a day to drive a car to the area.

“So obviously there are going to be markets that are going to be depleted of their normal fleets and that will create a, potentially create a, demand crunch in those markets and potentially raise prices," Abrams said.

Abrams says the Houston car-rental market remains chaotic as thousands of cars have been transported to the area.
