Brnovich Discusses Why He's Suing ABOR Over School Tuition

Attorney General Mark Brnovich is suing the Arizona Board of Regents for raising tuition to an inappropriate level over the past decade. There’s a frequently-cited phrase in the Arizona Constitution that requires costs to attend Arizona State University, University of Arizona or Northern Arizona University to be “as nearly free as possible.”

Even taking into account the hundreds of millions in state funding that have been cut from university budgets, Brnovich says the Regents have been violating that constitutional phrase.

We spoke with Brnovich about tuition, DACA and a lawsuit against the company Insys.
