The cool front moving into Arizona may usher out monsoon season while ushering in autumn.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Marvin Percha said we’re getting our first taste of fall weather this week and a cool front coming in from the Pacific Northwest may be enough to close out this year’s monsoon for good.
“We’ve already had somewhat cooler (temperatures) move into the region. It’s helped push temperatures to around normal with overnight lows that are quite comfortable," Percha said.
The state is experiencing unseasonably cool weather with temperatures averaging 8 to 10 degrees below normal with nighttime temperatures in the 60s in some spots of the Valley.
Percha says it’s unlikely that we’ll get more tropical moisture. The first day of fall is Friday, while the monsoon season officially ends Sept. 30.
