The Arizona Cardinals will kick off their home season Monday at 5:30 p.m. against the Dallas Cowboys.
Fans combined with Monday commutes mean the City of Glendale is preparing for more traffic than usual.
Debbie Albert, Glendale’s traffic engineer, said the city is working with the Cardinals and the Arizona Department of Transportation to cool down commutes.
She recommends drivers have at least two planned routes to get to University of Phoenix Stadium.
“If we can get folks to arrive early and follow the directions on the back of those parking passes, it will certainly make things operate more smoothly,” Albert said.
Stadium parking was scheduled to open this afternoon. Traffic is expected to pick up closer to game time with delays expected on the Loop 101 between Camelback Road and Glendale Avenue, and Interstate 10.
