A panel of judges on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has lifted the injunction on parts of Texas’ controversial immigration enforcement law, known as SB 4. But the judges continued to block some other of the law’s provisions.
Monday’s ruling was the result of arguments over whether to let the law go into effect, and comes ahead of a hearing in November on the law’s merits.
To break down exactly what the judges decided, I caught up with Julian Aguilar. He’s the Border and Immigration Reporter for the Texas Tribune. We spoke shortly after the ruling came out on Monday, and I asked him what that ruling says.
