UA Conducts Internal Investigation Of Assistant Basketball Coach

The University of Arizona is reviewing allegations in a criminal complaint made against one of its basketball coaches. UA president Robert Robbins said the school has begun the process of firing Emanuel "Book" Richardson.

Richardson’s arrest earlier this week came as part of a wide-ranging FBI investigation into influence and money on NCAA coaches and athletes.

Three assistant coaches at other schools were also charged this week as part of the investigation into fraud and bribery.

Louisville’s Head Coach Rick Pitino has been fired over the allegations.

Court documents show Richardson, a longtime assistant to Wildcats men’s basketball coach Sean Miller, allegedly took bribes on multiple occasions to steer players turning pro to management firms.

UA said it will also conduct its own internal investigation.
