Senators Introduce Conservative Approach To DACA With Succeed Act

President Trump’s announcement that he will eliminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, has caused significant worries for recipients and their families. It also gave Congress a tight deadline for deciding how to keep the popular program growing — or even expanding it.

To that end, some senators have put together what’s considered a more moderate set of conditions known as the DREAM Act 2017.

Now we’re hearing about a more conservative approach put forward by two Republican Sens. Thom Tillis of North Carolina and James Lankford of Oklahoma. They’re calling it the Succeed Act.

To learn more about the Succeed Act, we spoke with Christina Pollard. She’s a visiting associate professor with the Immigration Clinic at the University of Arkansas School of Law.
