Arizona Volunteers Helping Rebuild U.S. Virgin Islands

Emergency relief volunteers from all over Arizona are continuing to aid the islands slammed by a recent string of hurricanes.

Colin Williams, a Phoenix native working with the American Red Cross, is currently in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He says the devastation among the Eastern Caribbean is unlike any he has ever seen. Yet, Williams feels proud of the numerous volunteers from his home state.

“Volunteers from every corner of Arizona have responded here. It’s just a very beautiful thing that these volunteers set aside three weeks of their lives to come and help people that need it," Williams said.

Although communication is improving, Williams said getting in contact with family and friends in Arizona is still difficult.
