University of Arizona President Robert Robbins says the school has hired a law firm to conduct an independent review of allegations against an assistant men’s basketball coach. UA has also started the process of firing Emanuel Richardson.
In addition, the university has hired attorneys to work with the Justice Department, which brought the case against the four assistant coaches at schools across the country.
Robbins points out Head Coach Sean Miller has not been charged with, nor accused of, any misconduct, and has been fully cooperative and supportive of the UA’s efforts to find out what happened.
But in a column, John Feinstein writes that college coaches are control freaks, and says corruption like what’s being alleged now has been going on for years.
