The granary at Sahuaro Ranch Park was burned to the ground by a fire in late September 2017.

Glendale Police are investigating three recent fires the Sahuaro Ranch. They all happened in the middle of the night in the barnyard area. Several historic buildings have been charred — one to the ground.

The Sahuaro Ranch is on the National Register of Historic Places. It dates back to the late 1800s.

In the barnyard area, three buildings are now charred and disheveled. A fourth has minor damage.

Paul King, Glendale Recreation Administrator, remembers getting a call the night of the first fire, which hit the milking area. “A devastating blow,” he said. “Several staff came out immediately to see it and to help where we could.”

King said they’ll go through the remains, find what’s usable, and restore.

The Glendale Police are asking the public for any information. They are investigating whether there may have been criminal activity.
