Arizona State University's psychology department plans to expand a study targeting women dealing with high levels of stress.
The Authentic Connection is a 12 week program in which participants are assigned to weekly group sessions for women feeling burnt out.
“One of the things that you often find women saying when they’ve been through these groups is it’s really a blanket of love. It’s about just acknowledging if we have that, that alone gives us so much more strength and courage to be able to get through all the stress and nonsense that we must deal with on an everyday basis,” said Suniya Luthar, the founder of Authentic Connections and a psychology professor at ASU.
Luthar previously ran similar groups at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale and women showed significant improvement after completion of the program and during their three month follow up.
