Valley Non-Profit Aims To Bring Low-Income Students To The Arts

There’s been an increased focus on making sure schools include arts education — it’s the “A” in STEAM, which has been gaining… steam in many communities. But some schools struggle to afford the arts. That’s where a Valley-based non-profit comes in.

Part of what Act One does is to pay for field trips for students in Title One schools, which have a high percentage of low-income students, mainly in Maricopa and Pima Counties.

Geri Wright is the Executive Director of Act One, and she joins me to talk about the significance of students having access to the arts.
