If you are registered to vote, keep an eye on your mailbox this week and next.
County recorders across the state are mailing out millions of early ballots today after closing registration Tuesday night.
In Maricopa County, Recorder Adrian Fontes says his office is mailing nearly 1 million of those ballots today, which means they’ll begin arriving in mailboxes later this week and next.
In some cases, ballots will have as few as two questions. Fontes says those questions can have just as much impact on voter’s personal lives as the general election.
“We hope people will take it as seriously as they might any other election. In some cases this might impact their taxes, in some cases it might directly impact their schools or their sanitation districts," Fontes said.
Fontes says this is the first time all local elections in Maricopa County are being conducted by mail, but ballot centers will be available throughout the area leading up to the Nov. 7 election.
