MEXICO CITY.- Mexico, Canada and the United States are still discussing the future of the North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA, in Washington.
Meanwhile, the Canadian prime minister is visiting Mexico, where new agreements on trade between both countries are expected.
Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau is visiting Mexico City, where he plans to meet with Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto and other top officials for two days.
Trudeau’s visit happens while tensions and uncertainty prevail on NAFTA renegotiations in Washington.
In Mexico City, Trudeau and his committee are expected to discuss issues related to competitiveness, entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as ways for strengthening trade flows between both countries.
Canada is the largest foreign direct investor in Arizona, while Mexico is the state’s number one business partner.
