Since Arizona Task Force 1 was formed in the early 1990s, FEMA has deployed the urban search and rescue team to major incidents across the country, including the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City and Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
Most recently task force members responded to Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Hurricane Irma in Florida.
Arizona Task Force 1 is among 28 FEMA teams across the country, but, Shelly Jamison, Phoenix Fire Department's assistant chief, says the Arizona team is special.
