After being closed for nine months for construction, a grand opening ceremony was held Saturday for the newly renovated Greenfield Park in Mesa.
Marc Heirshberg, Mesa’s Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Director, said “When you take a park out of operation for nine months, it’s always fun to come back and see the smiles and see the excitement of when we return it back to the community something bigger and grander than it was before.”
One of the biggest renovations was to the park’s lake, a move sure to please urban fisherman and handicapped persons as the pier is now ADA compliant.
