Millions Of Well-Paying U.S. Jobs Don't Require A Bachelor's Degree

For years now, blue collar workers have watched jobs head overseas.

The decline in manufacturing jobs here might make the future look bleak, but a new report finds many states are gaining other good-paying jobs for workers without a bachelor’s degree.

Sunbelt states like Texas and Arizona have actually experienced job growth in skilled-services industries and did not lose large numbers of good blue-collar jobs.

The report is called "Good Jobs That Pay Without a BA."

One of the authors of the report, Neil Ridley of Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce, said the report found nearly 30 million paying jobs for workers without a four-year degree.

“One of our goals with this report is to shine a light on jobs that may require less than a bachelor’s degree but that are well paying and can provide real prospects for workers," said Ridley.

Ridley said most of the good jobs in Arizona pay around $55,000 a year.
