While the Arizona Diamondbacks’ season ended in disappointment for fans, their manager received a top honor Tuesday.
After his first full season as the Diamondbacks’ skipper, Torey Lovullo has won the National League manager of the year.
Lovullo led the Diamondbacks to a 93-69 record and their first playoff appearance since 2011. It was an improvement of 24 wins from the previous season, when the team finished a disappointing 69-93.
Lovullo was an assistant coach with the Boston Red Sox before he came to Arizona.
