Experts Concerned With Trump Administration's 'Extreme Vetting' Of Immigrants

In an attempt to examine prospective immigrants for their risk of committing terrorist acts, the Trump administration has solicited technology firms to develop software using artificial intelligence to perform this task.

A group of 54 computer scientists, engineers and other experts in the use of machine learning and data mining wrote to the Department of Homeland Security to express their concerns over “extreme vetting."

One of the people who signed this letter is Columbia University Professor of Computer Science Steven Bellovin.
