Report: 330 Of 800 Deaths Of Kids In Arizona Could Have Been Prevented

Nearly 800 children in Arizona died last year.

A statewide team reviewed the circumstances surrounding every child’s death. They looked at police and medical records and determined the deaths of 330 children could have been prevented.

The Arizona Child Fatality Review Program recently released its annual report, its 24th-annual report.

Pediatrician Mary Rimsza chairs the program, and we discussed some key findings. We started with two areas that saw more kids die than the year before: unsafe sleeping conditions and car crashes.
