Two U.S. senators have a message for the State Department: lift the hiring freeze. Republican John McCain from Arizona and Democrat Jeanne Shaheen from New Hampshire recently sent a letter to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson expressing concern over questionable management practices.
In their letter, Sens. McCain and Shaheen write America’s diplomatic power is being weakened internally as complex, global crises are growing externally.
