The agency was established during the Nixon administration and while different administrations have emphasized different environmental issues, the current administration is emphasizing a shake-up.
Some former EPA employees have joined scientists, engineers and others to form a group called the Environmental Protection Network. The goal is to preserve and advance what it calls the "nation’s bipartisan legacy of progress."
